JB 2014: Legoland

On the 4th day, we checked out of Bugis Village Hotel in Singapore and headed back to JB. The holiday continued in Tanah Malaya pulak! The kids just can’t wait for Legoland. As if USS wasn’t enough! After breakfast, we bid Singapore farewell-see-you-again-next-year. Immigration was smooth. Yay!

Oh by the way, my parents and sister made a last minute trip to JB to join us. Well, it’s actually mom who wanted to join me at JPO saja. Teehee!! My dad tak nak ikut shopping so we dropped by their hotel to pick mom and sis up and left IY with Tokman for a few hours. IY refused to follow “abang boring la kalau asyik shopping je!”. LOL! Nasib baik Tokman ada to babysit, if not jenuh la nak melayan his sulking bila kena paksa ikut.

Spent a few hours at JPO. Nothing much to shout about. I’m not the right person to do a JPO review sebab I’m not a shopping-crazy kinda lady.

That night I had dinner with a lovely Instagram friend. We met for the first time and instantly clicked! I was nervous at first about meeting a new friend. Macam blind date tapi tak blind sangat la sebab we know how each other look like. Haha! Glad it went well.

Nampak lengang kan? Well, maybe sebab semua menuju ke park sebelah kot. Our next trip InsyaAllah we will go to the waterpark pulak.

The next day is Legoland day! Oh have I mentioned that Z starting to develop fever malam tu. Haiyoh! Anak I ni bila berjalan tak sah kalau tak demam ye? But mommy was well prepared Alhamdulillah. Armed with ubat and all, I’m glad I’m more prepared this time around.

I bought the Legoland tickets from the counter. Queue tak panjang. The kids dapat FOC coz I redeemed a few bottles of Heaven and Earth Ice Lemon Tea bottles kat recycling centre just beside the entrance.

He loved this! Focus betul smapai tak pandang camera. Jenuh mak bapak panggil terjerit-jerit dia di luar pagar. Or perhaps he's embarassed? Tak ngaku mak bapak sapa la ni? LOL!

It was a sunny day and since this is our second time to the theme park, we strategized well. When it was shady and windy, we headed to the outdoor rides. The boys enjoyed the driving schools, the train ride and the boat ride. Then when it was scorching hot, we went indoors to the cafes for an ice cream or drink or quick bite. Indoors activities like the 4D show, the indoor playground and the Star Wars show were among the favourites. Duduk dalam Lego room tu main lego pun dah dekat sejam. We really took it slow and had a laid back day. Ikut je anak-anak nak main apa nak buat lama mana. No rush.

First time being alone. Sepatutnya abang masuk sekali tetapi abang dah lanjut umur. I was a bit skeptical at first sebab Z is not that independent sangat. Well, not anymore! He was being ny himself listening to instructions with no mama and ayah around. Bravo adik!

By 5 we were done and headed back to the hotel. Bought dinner and had it in our room je. Z’s started to demam balik. Hubby suddenly said “lepas Maghrib kita balik KL nak?”. Patutnya we check out the next morning. I was worried at first. Thinking he might be tired nak drive long distance but he insisted that he was okay and still energized (remember I said we had a laid back time at the theme park? Maybe sebab tu la masih bertenaga. LOL!). Lagipun JB-KL is not that far sangat. We packed our bags and had an early checkout around 8pm. The boys slept all through the journey so that made things easier. Well, a little hick up when Z puked in the car. Eeeek!!! But no biggie (cewah, trying to stay positive konon). After cleaning up kasi dia mandi kat Petronas R&R and we were good to go. Arrived KL a little past midnight and boy oh boy weren’t we glad to be home. Holiday memang best, but home is where the comfy couch is!

Until our next holiday in 2015 (InsyaAllah!), the next adventure awaits!

Singapore 2014: USS

We purposely planned to go to the USS on a Monday. To avoid the weekend crowd of course. I bought our USS tickets from Groupon and we all dapat free parking. Weehoo!

The crowd was bearable. Queuing time was around 15mins. We are not roller coasters junkie so our rides are the biasa-biasa saja. Hihi! Ada few rides yang Z couldn’t go in coz he’s too small so Gee and IY went in together while I took Z to the kiddies rides. They went to the Jurassic Park water ride and the Transformers ride. While mommy and Z went to the Dinosaurs ride yang pusing-pusing tu and Madagascar merry-go-round. Most of the time we stayed together but there were few times in the park where we split separate ways layan anak sorang satu.

We had lunch at the Mel’s Drive-In (it’s Halal) and enjoyed the live show. After lunch went for solat at the prayers room located near the Mummy Egypt land and tour the park for the lagi sekali. Second round tu dah tak beratur naik rides dah. More to chasing for the characters and lining up for pictures with them. Also a little bit of shopping. Left the park at about 6pm all tired, sweaty and berlengas. Haha!

That night after maghrib we went for dinner at the Bugis St mall nearby. Jalan kaki je coz it’s so near. Lepas dinner terus balik kepengsanan keletihan. The kids enjoyed Singapore as much we did. Well, a little bit too much coz most of of the shopping were for them! Satu beg penuh toys depa saja!

Enjoy the pictures. Next entry will be our JB trip.

We were lucky to get to queue for Bumblebee. Line was already closed when we got there. But a Chinese guy gave up his spot for the boys. Aww you're too kind sir. Thank you!

He was too short for the Transformers ride. Abang and Ayah went in without us. Being a good boy for not throwing a tantrum, mama upah ice cream.

Singapore 2014: Skyline Luge

This was an awesome day!

We took the MRT from Bugis St to Vivo Mall then naik Sentosa Express (alight at Imbiah Station) to go to the Skyline Luge. We were early so there were practically no Q. Oh happy sangat! At first we didn’t want to naik the chair ride sebab takut gayat! But rupanya in order to naik the Luge again and again (like we did!), which is turun dengan Luge, naik balik dengan chair lift tu. Hadoii…tak kan nak kena menapak panjat bukit pulak kan? Mula-mula memang takut, IY siap tunduk tak nak tengok. Zayyan was happy siap goyang-goyang kaki. But after a while, dah okay dah. We kinda enjoyed it.

Naik Luge sangat best. We bought the 8 rides combo i.e. 4 times for each me and Gee. Since IY tak pandai nak handle the brakes lagi (walaupun ikut umur and height dia dah lepas), we went for the kids-ride-with-adult package. The boys enjoyed it so much. Siap kami race lagi siapa sampai dulu! This is one activity you don’t want to miss if you come to Sentosa Island. The tagline memang la betul sangat. Once is never enough. Indeed!

Picture taken by the auto camera. 4x rides, we posed until we got it perfect! Look at IY!

3x practise nih! Look at the view!!

Control gayat ni!

When we were (finally) done, we went to the Vivo Mall to get lunch and jalan-jalan. I was lapar nasik dan malas nak try benda baru yang belum terbukti sedap. So we had lunch at our usual Madam Kwan. Nasi Bojari FTW! From our last visit a few years ago, now semakin mudah nak jumpa halal restaurants. The HALAL sign is more visible at the restaurant entrance. We had no problem finding halal food in Singapore.

IY suddenly spike a fever. He kept sneezing and coughing. Something must have triggered his allergy. After the meal, we decided to go back to hotel for a quick nap. Tak nak dia semakin melarat pulak sakitnya. We were quite knackered when we reached our room. Maklumlah naik turun MRT kan. Gave IY his meds and he rested a little bit. A little bit je! Dapat ubat terus melasak main dengan Z. Gahh!

After Maghrib we wanted to explore Orchard Road. Was thinking nak dinner kat Chef Wan’s restaurant at Plaza Singapura. Tiba-tiba tak jadi pula (looking at the buffet price – we figured it’s a waste untuk kami anak beranak yang tak kuat makan ni). So we headed to Swensens. IY was already asleep. The meds finally kicked-in kot. Nasib baik ada stroller si adik boleh la dia menumpang. Walaupun mak dia ni dah gigit jari takut roboh je stroller adik tu. Haha!

We shopped a little bit inside the mall, tak jadi jalan-jalan kat luar since IY dah tidur and he had flu. Didn’t want to expose him to angin malam takut makin melarat. Esok nak ke USS hoii! Haruslah sihat dan bertenaga!

By 9++pm we called it a night and head back to our hotel. We drove so phew tak payah nak ber-MRT bagai with one giant baby yang sedang tidur and one lasak boy yang sibuk nak berlari ke sana ke mari.

End of day 2.

Singapore 2014: SEA Aquarium

Our first (and might be the only) travelling series this year was Singapore. The boys have been waiting for this day to come since a few months ago. We kinda mutually agreed on a road trip to the south because initially I wanted to fly but that did not happen, obviously.

We left KL early Saturday (13 September 2014) morning. Had brunch when we reached JB before heading to Singapore. We were happy to get our dose of nasi ayam penyet at our favourite restaurant in JB. Nasib baik dah buka and serve walaupun baru pukul 11am masa tu.

We cleared the immigration with a breeze and went for a quick spin around town. Since it was still too early for the hotel check-in, better we kill time ronda-ronda dulu. Parked our car kat Vivo Mall and took the Sentosa Express to the Sentosa Island.

We wanted to go to the SEA Aquarium for a quick tour. While queuing for the tickets, a nice lady in front of me had extra discount vouchers and offered me some. Wahh rezeki! Dapat vouchers discount SGD20. Yay!

There was a huge crowd inside. Sesak! Luckily Z was in his stroller and I just need to mind IY. Nak snap pictures with nice shots pun takde mood coz nampak kepala orang je. But the kids enjoy la of course. IY suka sangat sebab nampak live benda-benda he saw in his books. “Mama, that’s hammerhead shark! Wow, this is awesome!”. Dia ni bila pegi zoo ke exhibition ke tengok binatang ke apa ke mesti nak belek satu-satu and baca semua signs and narrations. Had to wait for him. Jenuh jugak la tapi thinking of his sel-sel otak yang sedang berhubung, layan je la kan.

We were done in a few hours and ready to check in. Drove to our hotel in Bugis Street. Got lost for a bit sebab tak jumpa cari the street. Waze kept on showing us the wrong street tapi it’s one way and we can’t find the entrance. Bangunan dah nampak, jalan nak masuk tak jumpa. Hehe! Had to call the hotel and finally we made it.

Lepas maghrib we walked around the hotel area cari dinner. Went to the famous Zamzam restaurant just around the corner and had chicken briyani. The boys were starting to get cranky by then (must be tired of the travelling since morning). We just shoved everything down our throats and balik bilik to sleep.

End of day 1.

Enjoy the pictures!

September, already?

Wow! I just noticed my last entry was in August. And I haven’t been visiting this blog for quite some time now. Saw lots of spam in the comment box which proves I need to do some dusting here. Well, I have been spending most of my time on Instagram so for those of you who are following me there, it’s a just a repetition here. But I’ll babble more on the blog of course. Especially on details which I want to remember and share with my readers.

I just don’t know where to start from where I left off. Maybe I’ll talk about our recent Singapore trip.

But not just yet. Let me karang essay first and compile pictures.

We were at the SEA Aquarium SIngapore

Till my next entry, toodles!

Singapore Zoo

We have been promising IY the zoo a week before the trip. Been telling him that we’ll be seeing the elephants, monkeys, lions, crocodiles…and yang kelakarnye dia tambah sendiri…An nak tengok ayammmm! Erkk…kesian anak mama, nak tengok ayam pun sampai kena pegi zoo ke?

The zoo entrance

Cars parked all the way by the road side

We parked here

Again we started our journey after breakfast. I was anticipating a heavy traffic sebab it’s Deepavali holiday for both countries. Alhamdulillah, my prediction was wrong. The heavy traffic was on the opposite side coming in from Singapore. So we had a smooth journey with the help of our trusty GPS. We arrived at bout 10am and the car park was already full. People parked their cars along the roadside. Panjang okehh! Then we tried our luck to park at the Orchid Park nearby. Well, it’s not near anyway. We still had to walk about 1.5km which is very very far for this pregnant lady. Demi anakku yang nak tengok ayam kat zoo, ku gagahi jua.

Exercise pagi2

Since it’s Gee’s birthday that day, I knew that he’ll be getting free ticket. The ticket price is SGD18 for Admission Adult. Kids are 3-12. So again IY is free. I went to Q to purchase my tickets when a lady came to tegur me asking if I wanted to go in for free. I was surprised and asked why. She said she got free tickets but she’s letting it go.  Again, I asked why. She’s said it’s too crowded and she decided to come in later. Saya sangat suka hati but at the same time my mind was thinking “what’s the catch? ada hidden camera ke apa ni?”. She looked like she’s a hurry so I didn’t get her name. Just managed to say thank you. Dear Lady, if you are reading this blog, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Rezeki birthday boy la tu..satu family dapat masuk free.

Gee snapped a picture rupanya..that's her. She gave us free tickets. Thanks!

Then the journey began. The zoo was big. Penat. But we loved it nonetheless. Sebab tak busuk and it’s well kept. Rasa macam masuk reserved forest. Tapi yes ramai orang. I expected it though so couldn’t complained much. IY was in awe looking at the animals. Macam la tak pernah pegi Zoo Negara, but maybe dulu dia pegi he was still small. He appreciates more now.

Enjoying the view

Then we stopped at the Kids Zone. There was a pool there ala-ala KLCC Park tu. I was not prepared for the pool. Didn’t bring his swimsuit and towel. Mula-mula belasah je kasi dia masuk pakai jeans. Gee pun basah sekali. Then I went to the souvenir shop and bought a towel and nappy pants swimsuit. Wahh semakin menjadi2 anakanda saya bermandi manda di bawah terik matahari. Luckily, we had no problems to get him out of the pool. Of course dengan janji manis seluruh alam. Hehe..I know, bad parenting. Jangan tiru ok?

Suka betul

I became a bit tired and woozy by the end of the journey. Lagi-lagi dah bunyi guruh nak hujan. Cepat-cepat we sprinted to the exit and Gee went to get the car. We waited at the entrance coz I just couldn’t walk no more. Kebas dah kaki ni. We went for lunch and balik JB terus. IY seperti biasa naik kereta terus tido tak peduli apa dah.

Cantiknye anak teruna saya duduk - while waiting for Ayah to get the car

The next day we went back to KL after breakfast. Arrived KL around 2pm. Kepengsanan kepenatan. Tapi puas hati. The end.

Universal Studios Singapore

Our initial plan was to go on the Deepavali public holiday itself. Then I found out that going to USS on a public holiday is a no-no. It will be too crowded and the possibility of sold out tickets is very high. Tak nak la datang jauh2 tiba2 tickets sold out pulak kan. Or even kalau boleh masuk pun dok berlanggar bahu dengan orang. So we decided to go a day earlier.

We left the hotel around 9.30am after breakfast. The imigration clearance was a bit delayed coz they found out that Gee’s car ada saman in 2008 yang tak bayar lagi! Aiyak..have to settle that first in their office before we could proceed into Singapore. Terbang SGD70..hehe!

Q nak masuk Singapore

After snapping this pic, I realised we're not supposed to take pictures. Ada signage kat situ. *sorok camera*

We set the GPS to go to VivoCity Mall. We decided to park in there and take the Sentosa Express to USS. The parking fees was SGD7.80 and train was SGD3 each person pergi-balik. The SE was very convinient and cheaper alternative than driving to Sentosa Island. Turun after 1 stop je at Waterfront Station. Then terus dah masuk entrance USS. Since I bought the tickets online, we didn’t have to Q. Terus je scan the Print-At-Home tickets and we’re in. IY tak payah bayar. Kids are 4-12. And weekday rates are cheaper i.e. SGD 66. The ticket price includes SGD5 Meal Voucher and SGD5 Retail Voucher. Boleh guna inside to redeem bila beli barang and makan.

Sentosa Express - alight at Waterfront Station

IY baru bangun - still mamai but excited naik choo choo train

Turun train terus pintu masuk to USS

At the entrance

USS was not as big as I expected it to be. We had a strategy when we first read the map. Mula-mula pusing satu round dulu tengok apa yang ada..sambil pusing we spot the rides and whatnots yang nak naik nanti. Being pregnant of course I tak boleh naik almost semua benda. And Gee’s not a rollercoster guy himself. Takde geng katanya. Nevertheless, we had fun still. We took our own sweet time strolling the whole park twice. Tak ramai orang so the waiting time untuk each ride yang kitaorang naik pun tak lama. Dalam 5 minutes je.

Too many pictures

More pictures

Cukup la ye?

We had our lunch at one of the restaurants inside. Masuk je cari cop halal dulu. Gee had roasted chicken and I had chicken rice. IY makan his kiddie meal. Ada nuggets and fries. Tapi nasi mak dia pun dia belasah jugak. His kiddie meal came with a Woody Woodpecker lunch box. Since then, ke mana-mana pun dengan lunch box.

We had lunch here

Lunch time

Ice cream pulak

We didn’t shop one bit. Oh wait, does fridge magnets count? Okay then just that one bit. For the sake nak perabis the retail voucher. Maybe tak terasa nak shopping sangat sebab we know we will come again. Definitely. Next time dengan family pulak. Baru la Gee thrill nak naik rides.

All in all, the trip was an enjoyable one but tiring of course. I think if it wasn’t of my fragile condition, I would go all out enjoying it. Ni jalan pun slow-slow..kejap-kejap kena stop. Yang bestnye, the pening-pening lalat came only towards petang and at night..bagus la baby mama ni..kasi mama chance jalan-jalan dulu pastu lepas geram at  the end of the day ye? InsyaAllah, ada rezeki kita datang lagi ok?

So there you go…day two-done.
